The aim of The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is to reduce the overall environmental impact from our consumption. The entire life cycle of a product, from raw material to production, use, disposal and recycling, is included in the assessment, when drawing up the requirements for an ecolabelled product – for the benefit of people, the environment and the earth’s resources.

*Certain non cosmetic care products, which is not covered by the cosmetics regulation, may be licensed with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel in order to the criteria of the product group definition. These non cosmetic care products are collected in a separate commodity with a separate fee.

You can apply for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and EU-Ecolabel within more than 60 different product groups. Nordic Ecolabel or "Swan" Demonstrates that a product is a good environmental choice. The "Swan" symbol, as it is known in Nordic countries, is available for 65 product groups.
